had a dream – a giant silver space ship landed and a very dangerous looking black man came out of it and he spoke to me in a language that I had never heard – but he was kind, and his message was one of peace. Peace and whiskey. Also sex and LSD. And the space ship used amphetamines as fuel. But what I realized was that this was Sun Ra, wearing the earth body of Howlin’ Wolf. He gave me plans for the rocket tone machine which resembles and earth-type theremin and commanded me to build a primitive two string African guitar and play it very loud through a fuzz box so the people of earth would understand the new gospel: music is the weapon of the future.”

     The INTERSTELLAR ROADHOUSE is Mike Edison’s solo show featuring the two-string fuzz guitar, diddley-bow, slide guitar and theremin.
